Where did "Richmond" get it's name?
Some of you, those that are local may remember that Richmond hasn’t always been called “Richmond Care Home” and has had a few different names before now…
So what’s so special about Richmond’s name? It’s not a what, it’s a who.
Our lovely Sadie.
Sadie spent many of her younger years as a staff member caring for people in this very building!
When time came for a name change the staff were asked to write a name on a piece of paper to be pulled out of a hat.
Sadie’s suggestion was chosen and so Richmond Care Home was renamed.
Fast forward to today and Sadie iis a resident here at Richmond living in the very home she named all those years ago!
